It's a girl (and guy) thing...

Last week I had the pleasure of attending Hall's "Girls" and "Guys" night out of shopping. The whole store was bursting with signs of spring. Brightly colored jewelry and handbags, dresses in beautiful florals, Men's shirts in lavenders and pinks...it was like an urban garden! Hall's brings the forefront of fashion right to Kansas City, and I often look to them for inspiration.
One of my favorite departments in the store is shoes. I drool over the pretty Pradas and Gucci's, and I am loving their addition of Diane Von Furstenberg and 7 For All Mankind shoes. My all-time favorites are the Gastone Lucioli (featured in the photo, top row).

Jewelry and Handbags are my other weakness. The one thing I love about Hall's is that they bring in smaller jewelry lines and pieces that are very unique. I have had my eye on these beaded cuff bracelets for a while now. Aren't they gorgeous?

Cross body bags are all the rage right now. They have one in just about every color and style to choose from. I like how they paired them with fun, colorful scarves. The perfect layering piece for spring.
I am also so glad to see that retro pieces like these candy colored necklaces are coming back. I have some from a few years ago, so I will definitely be sporting them this season.

I wanted to do some spring outfit shots for you, but the clothing department was a bit too busy. So, instead I dragged my friend Katie with  me down to the Chanel cosmetics counter to get a quick spring look. Madeleine is a genius, she did my wedding makeup and you all must visit her if you are looking for some new product.

Chanel just launched a new lipstick line that is to die for. It is called Rouge Coco Shine. It literally feels like satin on your lips. It is applied like a lipstick, but comes off looking like more of a gloss. It is extremely hydrating, which will be great during the hot summer months.

I decided to try the color of the season, which was a pretty coral called Liberte. It took some getting used to, since I am so used to wearing pink. But I think with a tan, this could be very pretty. Here is a picture of Katie and I with our new "look".

We didn't leave Hall's without visiting the Men's department. I got to meet an up and coming designer named Zachary Prell whose shirts are now being carried by Hall's. Being a former private label shirt designer myself, I had a good time talking to him about fabrics and color and about the inspiration for his line. His Shirts are in one word, phenomenal. They are made of some of the finest cotton I have ever laid my hands on.

As a  former investment banker, Zachary wanted to design a shirt that would accommodate a man that needed the shirt to wear to work as well as after hours. He also found that many other men's shirts were ill-fitting, so his fit is designed to be a slimmer and more tailored cut. He has a great assortment of fabrics and colors that would look handsome under a suit and tie, or simply back to denim.

It was a great event, I left feeling inspired and excited...Spring really IS here!
